35mm Neo-Noir Psychological Thriller

Presented in black and white, 'Untitled' is a callback to classic noir with a contemporary spin. As Director of Photography, I worked adjacent to my assistant cameraman Sam to create storyboards, shot lists, and realized the director's chiaroscuro vision to bring it to the screens with dramatic shadows, Venetian blind patterns, and anamorphic flare streaks.
PREMISE & NARRATIVE ARCHITECTURE
This is a 2018 short noir thriller set in the 1950s, about a screenwriter who writes a home invasion thriller about a wife acting in vengeance against a killer named ‘The Man in Black’ after he slaughters her entire family. Presented in black and white, ‘Untitled’ is a callback to classic noir with a contemporary spin.
DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY COLLABORATION
As director of photography, worked adjacent to my assistant cameraman Sam to create storyboards, shot lists and understood the director's vision to bring it to the screens.
TOOLS & TECHNICAL ARSENAL
Pre-Production: Adobe Photoshop was used to create storyboards. Production: Sony A7S II, cine prime lenses (35mm, 50mm, 85mm), Canon 5D Mark III, DJI Camera stabilizers. Post Production: DaVinci Resolve Studio high-contrast monochrome color science.
